We Will Remember!

"I feel this way about it. World trade means world peace and consequently the World Trade Center buildings in New York ... had a bigger purpose than just to provide room for tenants. The World Trade Center is a living symbol of man's dedication to world peace ... beyond the compelling need to make this a monument to world peace, the World Trade Center should, because of its importance, become a representation of man's belief in humanity, his need for individual dignity, his beliefs in the cooperation of men, and through cooperation, his ability to find greatness."
--Minoru Yamasaki, chief architect of the World Trade Center, a comment made long before September 11, 2001.
A note from the author--I have received many heartfelt responses to the posting of my first tribute poem, "Silent Skies", created from my emotional response to this horrible personal and national tragedy. I want to thank all of those who took the time to share with me their grief and personal stories concerning the attacks. It is through this sharing that I receive further inspiration to express the painful emotions felt by the people of our nation and the world.
We, as a nation, are holding hands, groping in the dark for the doorknob and the way out of this horror. We are united in our pain and suffering, helping others in their time of need. We are united in our quest to put an end to terrorism and united in prayer for those who are dealing with the consequences of man's inhumanity to man. May it always be so.
